| I know that in North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee and Ohio there are very specific rules for what types signs have to be posted in non-carry establishments. A simple circle with a line through it over a silhouette of a gun doesn't cut it. Sounds like Utah does not. Regardless, the minute a manager asks you to leave you have to even if there is no sign posted. Once you refuse to leave you are breaking the law. On the plus side, Utah has Castle Doctrine. Tennessee and North Carolina have not passed it yet. |

| This is an old issue. Most all Walmarts cop the same attitude towards carrying a firearm in their store. It got me fired up when I first became aware of the problem too. I was outraged that some "dufus" who more than likely couldn't hold a management job anywhere else could dictate to me that I wasn't allowed to carry when I have had extensive training and am licensed to carry. They don't post signs because the criminal element would have free reign. I called the County Sheriff and asked him about this BS. I said, "How can they do that when they don't post a sign at the front doors?" He said, "It falls under the 'right to refuse service to anyone' clause and that the smartest thing to do is CONCEAL" Don't ask and don't tell! I have carried in Wally-World ever since. I don't give it a second thought. I was wearing my G21 and two spare mags the day I purchased a hunting rifle from them and had to be escorted to my vehicle before the Mgr. would turn possession of my rifle over to me. What a bunch of mindless drones. I hate shopping there too, but mostly for Walmart letting the Hispanics turn it into a damn daycare for their kids. There has been at least one stabbing and I don't know how many physical assaults in this store, if they think they can keep me from packing in they're store, then they are even dumber than my extremely low opinion of them. I am referring to corporate and upper level management. There are a lot of good people that work for them too, unfortunately those folks don't have much influence on store policies.

Look at it this way, you are on Wal-Mart's private property. If they don't want you to bring your firearm into their store, then don't do business with them! Picture this, one of your wife's friends comes on your property and you don't trust him with firearms, yet he is open carrying one. You ask him to leave it in his car and he throws a fit about it. Now what side of the bench are you on? I can't believe some of you have the audacity to think you have the RIGHT to disrespect someone on their own private property. Some people take this WAY too far! I don't know about you ladies and gentlemen, but I personally would be PISSED if someone tried to raise hell on my own, personal property or business over a rule I make. That being said, I CC in Wal-Mart every time I go. But bitching about getting asked to leave for open carrying is just pushing the envelope. Don't let them know you have it and they won't give you any problems!!

| Don't get me wrong -- I am pro gun. All I am saying, which I think everyone misunderstood is, this is give and take. If I own a business I think I should have the right to say "no guns in my store".. It's the same as saying to a visitor in my house "leave your gun outside". If you don't like the policy don't shop there, but don't make such a deal out of it that the anti gun folks use it to go to court again to see if they can take our gun rights away.. It is called respect for each other's rights.. |

| Yeah, these were my thoughts also. If my wife invited any "friends" to our house and I couldn't trust her judgement, they'd never get through the door, gun or no gun.

| I have been to the local Wally world twice since receiving my CCW. There are no signs at this store. I only shop there because there is no other department store within 100 miles. I keep it concealed (Like the permit says I can do) and nobody notices. Someone mentioned that the local manager "walked the gun to the car" thing....I had to laugh, cause the one local hardware store (their are two in town that sell weapons!!) here carries the gun to the front door and hands it to you after you exit for "security reasons"....I thought that was so funny, cause in this "open carry" state, I walked in with my loaded pistol on my side, in plain sight..... She still walked me to the door....IMHO, Just funny....
